It’s June and this has already been a year to remember!

Recently, my family and I took a trip out west to see my daughter and my son-in-law. We spent the week visiting the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon National Park, the Las Vegas Strip (yes, pic by the world-famous sign), the Pinball Museum, and the Sphere. We ate at places like the Sirens Cafe in Kingman, Arizona (riding out on old Route 66), and the Tailwinds Airport Cafe in Vegas. So much to see! We took lots of leisure time, and I recharged my spirit.

We flew back to Canton to resume life. Then we took in the annual Canton Greek Fest, had great Greek food, and saw lots of dancing. I just hit my full retirement age yesterday, but I will keep working for the time being. My daughter and son-in-law will be coming to NE Ohio for a visit (yes, the same ones we just visited), and they will split their time between his family and ours.

I am setting some direction for the balance of the year. I continue to go to the gym once a week, do strengthening, and keep writing in my journal. I am researching how to create affirmation cards for Christian men, trying to finalize my second draft of my novel, and consolidating some of my belongings. I do all kinds of things every week, and I stay active.

Keeping up with world events is impossible. We are on the verge of an historic moment in our evolving relationship with Iran and the nations of the Middle East.  President Trump has gotten further than any U.S. president ever has with the demand that there be no nuclear weapons in Iran. I have wished for a regime change, but that remains to be seen.

This is really a catch-up blog post. I typically post commentary on American foreign policy, but today, I just wanted to sit back down at the keyboard and restart my blog flow. The summer is going by fast.

So, to summarize my writing, I am researching my men’s devotional/journal, writing its text, and creating a deck of Christian men’s affirmation cards to accompany it. I am slowly adding material to my novel to create more compelling action sequences and adding to my blog schedule.

I wish to draw some readers to the blog so I can build off the energy of interactions.

Any thoughts on my blog post? How is your summer progressing?
