About Mark A. Stevenson

Mark A. Stevenson grew up moving between embassies, consulates, and military posts around the world, a childhood shaped by culture, conflict, and constant change. Those early experiences left him with a deep curiosity about people and places — a perspective that now threads through his writing.

Born in the Panama Canal Zone while his father served in the U.S. Navy, Mark spent his early years moving between embassies, consulates, and military installations around the world. His parents later joined the U.S. State Department as Foreign Service Officers, and their assignments took the family to Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Miami, Florida; Athens, Greece; and Karachi, Pakistan.

During their time in Karachi, the family lived through the India–Pakistan war. Mark, his mother, and his sister were evacuated to Tehran, Iran, while his father remained behind with the Consul General. After the cease‑fire, his father left the State Department and eventually became a pastor. These experiences — marked by travel, conflict, diplomacy, and faith — became the foundation for Mark’s storytelling.

Travel. Change.
Knowledge.

Driven by the importance of international knowledge and the relationship Americans have with it.

Mark’s writing is shaped by a lifelong interest in international affairs and the relationship Americans have with global events. As he researched U.S. foreign policy and the role of American embassies and consulates abroad, he became increasingly aware of how little the public often knows about these critical institutions. His work aims to bridge that gap by blending real‑world insight with compelling fiction

Today, Mark is completing the first book in a three‑part series inspired by his family’s adventures. He is also developing several short stories and articles that explore themes of diplomacy, conflict, and faith

His goal is simple: to become an accomplished writer whose stories both entertain and inform.
